I'm back finally, from a year haitus from card making. Many things have happened especially my career in the corporate and my time has been spent working my life away the one whole year.

But now that it is coming to the year end, I'm starting to slow down and re-counting my passion. I truly miss card making and I've decided to come back by opening up Card-A-Heart to another level.

I'll let you guys know what's up soon. I'm in the midst of setting up the fun! Stay tune...

My camera didn't do any justice to this card at all. Bah! :-( It's much sweeter in real. MUCH. And so the story goes that Adrian shared with Z.Bin about my card activities. And for what so ever reason, he asked if I could make one for his girlfriend's birthday.

I first wanted it pink and green, that sorta panache color tone but Z.Bin warn me no green because "my gf will kill me. she hates green. pleaseeee no green..."

Fuyoh, such strong plead. Hehe...

And so, it's all pink... love pink... >.<

It came along as a request to make for her sister while I was in Samui. I was very worried if ever I could make it on time for her since after coming back, I'm always with tonnes of things to do. Somehow, I managed to pull this through for Aida and here is something I truly hope she would like for her sis. This time around I had the card a little different from my usual style. Nonnie & Her Princesses

I can't begin to express how much fun I had doing up these 4 bookmarks for Nonnie. I just love these bookmarks so much so that I wanted to keep it for myself [if I could]. Haha.

Nonnie asked for bookmarks for her and her 3 princesses. In particular Nonnie loves to read and there isn't a better way to have my work reminding her of the pages she has stopped.

For Dinna who is 6 years old, Nonnie said to have it more cartoony so there, Mr Owl on a branch with her name on the leaf. But what I took the liberty to ensured was a brighter colorful theme for a 6 year old.

For Innas who is 8, she likes butterflies, hearts and flowers. And so, I resorted on butterflies for. Sweet.

For Iemann who is 13, the initial request was to have something made on MU but as you know my style, I can't cook anything nice out of that. So I asked Nonnie what else. And later told she likes Twilight! And flowers. And ribbons. And pink. Ah ha, so there I got Iemann her name, flowery theme and these words which she specifically told Nonnie she wanted, "Twilight in my Heart."

And finally for the mummy herself, [I can't resist LOVING hers] she wants either something cute or girly. There you go. And since Nonnie's virtual nick is HunnyB, HunnyB she gets! Hehe...

But all in all, with all honesty, I wanted the bookmark for myself I tell you... *smile*

Last but not least, hope Nonnie and the girls would like them as much as I do...

I drew the little cute airplane, and as usual, colored it to match the background I had in mind. And ta-dah, one for my father-in-law. What I like most about the card is having the cute airplane pulling the banner "Father's Day" with a little cute white string. Just a little appreciation for all he has been to my husband and I.

This card is one of those different cards I've done so far. The inside of it contains 25 things Hazreen loves about her husband and the base was made of plastic. I had it lined with matte tracing paper. Then, to finish it up, an envolope is made where the card can be slotted into it and at the front, I've had these very words from Hazreen printed. Sooo, by end of it, it acts as an envolope and nice cover to a supposedly card.

Green has never been my color. And I always think green to be a bore. BUT, this card made a turning point to my opinion. Shades of lovely pastel piece... ahhh, lesson learnt! And, to top it up, I drew the shoe horse along with the 4 leaf clovers. So it has to be lotsa, lotsa, lotsa luck!

And so, here it goes, a lotsa plentiful luck card for Easwary who will be off to Shanghai soon. From obviously her dearest friends whom she has grew up with in the bank... awww, so sweet. I learnt a new word also from Michelle, there will be 'waterworks' when she receives this... awwww...

She ordered this for a special person. And I got her this. What makes this card unique is the paper. The red pattern is actually 2 love birds facing each other, almost kissing. AND, these words are velvet in texture... and to add a little more cuteness to it, I hand sewn the edges of "last a lifetime"... sigh, lovely...

So... what have I been up to with a period of silence? Yes, I was away from cardmaking and did my catching up with my books and sleep. It has been lots of work in the office, coupled with weddings, travelling, planning for X'mas and catching ups with people.

I hope you are not thinking what I am thinking {why are there more and more pictures of the same card as time moves on}... well... I can't help it, that is why... *grin with all teeth displayed*

This card is going to Hui Mei who has gone through the pain staking labor of pain for 1 Godly hour just to get her baby pop {God forbid} so I think she deserves something really different.

The card is special because the little rocking horse sort of envolopes the word "precious" and when it is opens {delicately!} like a tainted window, here we get "precious"... it's simple but simply adorable.

This is as pure and simple as it gets, in my humble opinion. I adore this card because it is simple yet outstanding enough to get the message across. This piece is different because I have actually tied the ribbon the middle {and thus, the card literally is tied to the ribbon in the middle! this is no-glue-the-ribbon-to-the-card work... ehem ehem}, of which it holds the tag. In short, the tag is actually hanging elegently to the card.

Since Bonnie and her hubby has something for blue, and it's their anniversary, I think this would be a perfect card for her to the man of her life...

Lots of love. Red. 2nd anniversary for her boyfriend - Sheqal. Bigger than the normal card. This is what I had for the boyfriend.

To add flavor to it, I've made even a translucent envolope with Sheqal's name on it, matching to the theme of the card. And because I was so enjoying it, I can't help but to take extra pictures of this beautiful piece. Kiwan, it's all yours now... have a great anniversary!

This is about 3 weeks of work, in betweens my very "busy" life. Making 43 book marks is a serious feat. Not as painstaking as the wedding album BUT it sure is tedious because I'm repeating the motion over and over again for 43 times. Haha...

It's not difficult, just tedious. So people who can't stand monotony, I think they will go harikari. I'm sure. Haha...

But nevertheless, having 43 rows of standards makes we feel awesome. I was really standing right in front of them for quite awhile, just quietly savoring them... I wonder who are the lucky fellas who will be getting these? I hope they will keep it...*wink*

X'mas Cards for Charity

What do you know... finally, my cards are out from the printers!!! Everyone here is specially hand designed by yours truly. Yay yay!

These cards have been designed, then colored with Copic. My initial designs were 6 but after much deliberation and dwelling on the output with the printer {of which some turned out very dull and sad as compared to the original}, I've decided to ditch the 3 and keep these 3 instead. *grin* Of which, I have put Jason {the really patient printer} into countless undecided combination of colors, designs, fonts, sizes of this and that, material, and what else anyone can think of. Sorry Jason... *gulp*

BUT, now it is all out, 600 of them, a means to raise funds, I am happppppy. Yes, happy as a little lark.

Since this is my take on giving back to the kids, every single card sold would 100% go to Sanctuary Home in Setapak {where I occasionally lent a hand}. Generally, the monies would go to the monthly utility bills, rentals, groceries and etc {if you wonder} of the home.

I typically love this card because it is lovey yet masculine. Something simple yet enough to make a statement. The centre piece of the owl were shaded with matching blue which I work with crayon and my finger tips. I was experimenting on various techniques so I get a good blend of colors as a back ground. Seemed that it works! Yahoo...

This is a simple chic piece I made for Yvonne for her hubby. Tsk tsk tsk, she initially said it's a birthday for a guy. Dare not tell me it's her hubby. Hehe... somehow I got into details...

Anyway, I made her an envelope to hold the card which is actually a frosted paper to diffuse the feel of overly plain... somehow it turned out chic enough... hope Yvonne likes it tho' :-)

This cutie is specially for Ezly who has delivered a little boy 2 weeks back.

I was pretty loss for ideas with everyone around and my focus ideas seemed to have weaned off when there are too many people around me... hehe... it took me a little while to pull this one off. Lucky it turned out within my satisfaction tho' my humble opinion thinks it could have been better... *grin*

The other thing is, I think I got the background to this card picture all wrong!!! Hehe... but what is a girl gotta do when she's rushing to get out of the heat snapping this... the weather's been crazy out there yeah *giggle*

Aren't they all one of the sweetest cards you have seen? Awww... I so like them that I told Ima if she doesn't like them, it is ok because I really don't mind keep it for myself!

I made Ima 25 Reasons I love you and she gave me RM50 and at that point of exchange no one had a change for that. So, I ended up owing her the difference.

The next day she texted me asking how many cards can I make as a

'thank you' card for her customers who have granted them their precious time to see her.

I told her 6 and the rest was history. So they say...

I wanted the cards to be neutral so it is easier for Ima to give it to a male or female customer so what better color than a baby blue. And I wanted it to be in a set of 6 some how, so I made them to look like they belonged to the same family! But since I hate monotony, I made every single card differently (in their own ways) yet still holding on to the theme... well... I sure love them if you don't.... *SMILE*

This is one lovey dovey card I made over the weekend. There is something lovey about this card I shall say. While the pictures are cute, they illustrate very cute wordings if you take note. It says, "Keys to my Heart", "Sweetheart" and "You Light up My Life" in pictures. Cute eh?

I am totally loss for words to this best heart booklet I have made thus far. I dig this with a capital D. For many reasons. 1st - it has this very cute theme and color combi. 2nd - for the concept of numbering where the numbers from 1 to 22 rotates around the hearts. 3rd - the cute metal heart is attached to every page. 4th - check out the cute little missile which represents Qila!!! (I so wanna keep that missile for myself * sheepish grin*).

So Qila, here you go girl. Some of your suggestion, at best where possible. Tadah! For your bff + bf on his 22nd birthday.

I know. This is the most deliciously adorable looking card I've made thusfar. I just can't help and stop looking at it from near or far, side ways, under ways...whichever ways.

Qila wrote to me, requesting this 'special' piece for her friend Melanie who is studying in Sarawak. And it's her 22nd birthday. Apparently Mel hopes to have something for cupcakes for her birthday... so, I got something along that line.

It's ordered for Latipah - this extremely soft spoken lady whom I have known back in my 1st working year 11 years back! Despite her being an older lady now, this is one lady whom has not aged a single day. And you wonder where she not have that temper... well, I still don't have an answer... so, I guess to some extend this card does reflect her, serene, poise and at peace...

THE Wedding Album

This is my 2nd work on a wedding album. Piecing it for Adrian and gang whose now freelancing on wedding shots though and very unfortunately, I have called it a 'retirement' for wedding albums. Hehe... it's a tiring feat my dears if you wonder. Plus, there is plenty of emotions to work on when piecing wedding stuff... I don't know about others but I am one who will be involved emotionally because it's one of those 'once a lifetime' occassion for every couple.

Anyway, I like the way this album has turned out to be though I have gaven quite a bit of my time to get this album through. Phew, I am so relieve to get this over.

Well, the bride, Joanne and groom, Jenn Fai - congrats! I hope you like what I handcrafted for you guys and I hope the pictures I've choosen and piece together is something that gives enough meaning to your special day *cross fingers* and the album is able to capture the essence of it all...

Amongst all the pics I have picked for the album, I particularly LOVE the last 2 ones, because Joanne looked so, so radiant and lovely and Jenn Fai looks smucking good in those very candid shots at the dinner table, sorta brings out the handsome-ness in him.

And... if you are all wondering, I do not know Joanne nor Jenn Fai... nor have I met them..hahah... so, as much as I hope and pray, they will like and enjoy my work... *grin*

This is my maiden work on English roses and it's sophistication. I can't quite put my finger on the concept yet because this piece is beyond me. I still feel there is something I have not perfected just yet... hmmm. Something is still quite missing but it's certainly a change for me.

Hokay... Cheryl, this one's for grandma ya. I know, I should have given it to you first before I posted it here BUT I CAN'T HELP IT!!!

Since Cheryl's grandma has a liking for purple, I had it crafted to just that.

BTW, there were no intent to have this pixs in this blurry, sophiscated aura (my photography skills ain't that good). But the fact that it has much glitter around the card (from the word "grandma" to the flowers to the bling-blings around it, snapping it under good direct sunlight sorta radiate the shimmering effect. So there.

I had this made for someone particular in mind but I can't quite say it now because I have not given her yet. In case she gets into this blog, then there is no suprise to this if she already know it's for her. I don't know what got me into this tone but it's something beyond my pastel norm. These pixs failed to capture the true essence of the card as there is something lack in the vibrance of the color .

In reality, the card has some sense of affirm solid yet elegant touch to it. I felt it sort of sordified the word, "Friends like you." I guess that was how I interpreted this piece when I made it. A sincere affirmation of the friendship to this particular friend.

This card made me stay up till 2.30am because I was so into it. Every additional bit of it made me even more excited so I went on, over and over and over before I knew it, it was already that wee hour early. I didn't want to stop, I wanted badly to see the end product and no heavy eyes nor yawns were over taking me... the power of passion (I suppose?) Heh.. heh...

And yes, those flowers which looked like they are growing from a white washed fence, they are pieced piece by piece also, sweet aren't they?

This is one of those cards which I enjoyed making thoroughly because it evokes all the sweetness flowery dovey we girls drool. Ahhhh... sigh.

This card has already a receipient in mind but as usual, I can't let the cat out of the bag yet because her birthday is sometime middle of the coming week... oh well, if you happen to pass by her cubi and sees this card, you then know who!
